"He Created Them Male & Female" Theology Conference

Friday, November 14 (6:00PM - 9:00PM) and Saturday, November 14 (8:00AM - 12:15PM) | Welcome to the 2026 Theology Conference, “He Created Them Male and Female.” In a culture increasingly confused about the meaning of sex, gender, marriage, and human identity, the church must return again and again to the clear teaching of God’s Word. Our understanding of man and woman does not begin with contemporary culture, personal preference, or social convention, but with the Creator Himself. As Matthew Everhard reminds us in “Created Male and Female” from Genesis 1:26–27, God created humanity in His own image, and He intentionally created us “male and female.” Our sexual identity is therefore neither accidental nor self-defined; it is a good gift of God's wise and sovereign creation. Because the Bible speaks clearly about these matters, Christians have both the privilege and responsibility to think, speak, and live according to God's revealed truth.

These truths also have profound implications for the life and ordering of Christ's church. The church does not invent its own offices, responsibilities, or patterns of service, but receives them from Christ through His Word. Cody Hooper’s “Ordained to Serve” and Jared Nelson’s “The History of Women Serving in the Church” invite us to consider carefully what Scripture teaches about the calling of men and women within the household of God. Likewise, Barry York’s “Biblical Femininity” and Matthew Everhard’s “Biblical Masculinity” call us to recover the goodness of distinctively masculine and feminine callings rather than treating those distinctions as burdens to be discarded. Biblical Christianity does not diminish either men or women. Instead, it honors both as equally made in God's image while recognizing that God has given them distinct callings within marriage, family, church, and society.

Finally, what we believe about God's design for men and women profoundly shapes the covenant household and the generations that follow us. Josh Howard’s “Challenges to the Covenant Household” and “Raising Godly Children in the Lord” remind us that these questions are not merely theoretical or political; they reach into our homes, marriages, and the discipleship of our children. Lincoln Larsen’s “Husbands, Love Your Wives” and Kathy Woolner’s “Wives, Submit to Your Husbands” point us to the beautiful, countercultural pattern of marriage established in Ephesians 5—a pattern ultimately grounded in Christ's sacrificial love for His bride, the church.

Our prayer is that this conference will strengthen your confidence in the sufficiency of Scripture, deepen your appreciation for God's good design, and equip you to live faithfully as men and women, husbands and wives, parents and children, and members of Christ's church. May everything we consider together lead us not merely to clearer convictions, but to greater faithfulness, holiness, humility, and love for our Lord Jesus Christ.
